Marushka Charnley
Managing Director
Marushka is a seasoned expert in waste management and environmental sustainability, with over a decade at Phambili Services. She spearheaded the creation of Phambili's Material Recovery Facility and Separation-at-Source Program, and her strong project management and ESG governance skills make her a key leader in the industry. She's committed to raising environmental awareness and driving collaborative, impactful action across South Africa and beyond.
Jaco Poggenpoel
Chief Operations Officer
Jaco has led Phambili Services' operations since 2017, overseeing waste removal, recycling and depot activities across a portfolio of municipal and mining contracts. With close to 30 years of experience in the waste management industry, he is responsible for the operational and financial performance of every project the company runs, from tendering and risk management to fleet operations and stakeholder relationships with municipalities, mines and clients across South Africa. Beyond day-to-day operations, Jaco takes a strategic view of the business, identifying new opportunities and developing tailored waste solutions that meet the evolving needs of Phambili's clients.
Jermaine Charnley
Business Development Manager
Jermaine drives business development at Phambili Services, with a focus on finding new opportunities, building strong partnerships and growing the business into new markets. He works closely with clients and partners to develop practical solutions across waste management, resource recovery and the circular economy. Jermaine is passionate about turning ideas into viable projects that create real environmental and social impact, while supporting Phambili’s continued growth across South Africa and the broader African market.
